Volunteering at Sambhali Trust
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer!
Volunteering at Sambhali Trust gives you the excellent opportunity to do meaningful and valuable work, empowering underprivileged women and children of Rajasthan.
Anyone can volunteer and make a difference to our Trust, regardless of race, ethnicity, caste, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, or any other aspect which makes them unique.
Without people like you, we wouldn’t be able to improve the lives of the women and girls in India.
Here are the volunteer opportunities that we offer at Sambhali:
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
We prefer volunteers who are able to stay for a minimum of two months (but it's not mandatory).
A satisfactory level of English is required.
It is important to have the willingness to work, as well as to be flexible as activities may change over time.
Patience, understanding, and compassion for children of different learning levels and abilities are required.
Prior experience in teaching English or arts and crafts is not essential but beneficial. If you have experience and/or skills in sewing, dress-making, or tailoring, this would be good.
For volunteers interested in supporting our Aadarsh and Nirbhaya projects, which provide counseling and raise awareness about sexual abuse and gender-based violence issues having a background in psychology or counseling is required.
VOLUNTEER HANDBOOK & GUIDELINES
Please read our Volunteer Handbook and our Volunteer Guidelines thoroughly.
These documents include information on a wide range of topics from some facts about India and Sambhali, tips on preparing for your trip to useful phrases in Hindi :)
We hope this will answer most of your questions, but please feel free to contact us at volunteer@sambhali.org, if you’d like to get more information.
